Grand Theft Auto 6 has generated unprecedented consumer demand ahead of its launch, according to tracking data from market research firm Circana. The firm revealed that 29% of console and PC players in the United States currently intend to purchase the title, representing the highest purchase intent Circana has ever recorded for any video game release.

Circana analyst Mat Piscatella described the upcoming launch as a rare cultural and commercial moment within the gaming landscape. Piscatella noted that player anticipation has been heavily intensified by the 13-year gap since the launch of Grand Theft Auto 5, predicting that the momentum will spill over into the hardware and accessory markets by driving console sales for the PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X|S throughout the holiday shopping season.

Commercial projections also point to massive financial figures well before the game arrives in stores. According to Sensor Tower, Grand Theft Auto 6 has already generated roughly $675 million in revenue from approximately 7 million pre-orders, with estimates suggesting the title could amass 25 million advance orders and $2 billion in total revenue prior to street date.

Grand Theft Auto 6 is scheduled to launch on November 19, 2026, on PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X|S, with digital pre-loading scheduled to unlock on November 12.
