GTA 6 Police AI to Track Clothing, CCTV, and Getaway Vehicles

Evading police in GTA 6 will require more than breaking line of sight, as law enforcement utilizes CCTV footage, vehicle descriptions, and clothing to track suspects.

Eluding law enforcement in Grand Theft Auto 6 will demand significantly more caution than in previous entries. Rather than simply outrunning patrol cars until a flashing radar radius clears, players will reportedly contend with an upgraded police response system designed to gather intelligence and pursue suspects based on specific physical evidence.

Police units operating across the state of Leonida will be capable of logging key identifying markers following a crime. Law enforcement AI can track suspect physical appearances, current clothing, and visible weaponry. Evading immediate visual contact will no longer guarantee a clean escape if witnesses or local surveillance systems have already documented those traits.

Security infrastructure will also play a direct role in ongoing investigations. Police can utilize closed-circuit television (CCTV) feeds around crime scenes and log information regarding getaway vehicles used during an escape. Furthermore, the AI system tracks whether a criminal act was carried out by a lone perpetrator or with an accomplice, directly tying into pursuits involving dual protagonists Jason and Lucia.

In earlier franchise installments, escaping police attention largely relied on staying outside fixed sight cones and waiting out a countdown timer once clear of a pursuit perimeter. With dynamic tracking accounting for outfits, vehicles, and surveillance, staying off the radar in Leonida will likely require players to swap cars, alter their attire, and avoid heavily monitored corridors following major offenses.

Grand Theft Auto 6 is scheduled to launch on November 19, 2026, for PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X|S. Promotional footage highlighting the state of Leonida is available on the official Rockstar Games YouTube channel.
