GTA 6 Could Arrive on PC Within Seven Months of Console Launch, Analyst Predicts
Wedbush Securities analyst Michael Pachter predicts Grand Theft Auto 6 could arrive on PC within six to seven months following its initial console rollout.

Grand Theft Auto 6 may reach desktop players far sooner than previous Rockstar Games releases, according to an industry projection. Wedbush Securities analyst Michael Pachter suggested during an appearance on BBC News that the highly anticipated open-world title could arrive on PC within six or seven months of its initial console launch.
Rockstar has officially announced GTA 6 exclusively for PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X|S. Historically, the studio has maintained substantial gaps between platform releases: Grand Theft Auto 5 took roughly eighteen months to transition from seventh-generation consoles to PC, while Red Dead Redemption 2 arrived on Windows about a year after its console debut.
Speaking on console exclusivity, Pachter noted that the lack of day-one PC access creates an immediate hardware demand for consoles, though that exclusivity window might not persist indefinitely. “The game is not exclusive to PlayStation 5; it’s also coming out on the Xbox Series X|S, and in about 6 or 7 months it will come out on PC,” Pachter stated, adding that players must initially own current-generation hardware if they wish to play at launch.
The prediction aligns loosely with previous speculative reports targeting an early 2027 arrival for a Windows build. However, Rockstar Games and parent company Take-Two Interactive have not formally acknowledged a PC port or provided any launch window beyond the scheduled console rollout.
Developing an expansive simulation across the wide variety of modern PC hardware configurations remains a complex undertaking. While an eventual desktop release remains standard practice for mainline Grand Theft Auto titles, official platform timelines remain unconfirmed until Rockstar announces them directly.
