Grand Theft Auto Veterans Share Advice for GTA 6 Protagonists
Veterans from GTA 5 and San Andreas share advice with the unannounced actors portraying GTA 6 leads Jason and Lucia.
Stepping into the Grand Theft Auto universe as a protagonist brings a level of fame and scrutiny few other roles in gaming can match. During an appearance at MCM Comic Con, the talent behind some of the franchise's most celebrated leads offered their own guidance to the incoming stars of Grand Theft Auto 6.
The gathering included the performers behind Grand Theft Auto 5's iconic trio—Michael De Santa, Franklin Clinton, and Trevor Philips—alongside the original voice of Grand Theft Auto: San Andreas protagonist Carl "CJ" Johnson. Together, the group spoke on the unique challenges and opportunities awaiting the two actors cast as GTA 6 protagonists Jason and Lucia.
Preparing for Unprecedented Attention
Rockstar Games has introduced Jason and Lucia through early promotional reveals, yet the studio has maintained strict secrecy regarding the specific actors playing the pair. That official silence has not stopped eager fans from scouring every frame of footage to deduce their identities.
Drawing from their own history with the community, the returning actors discussed what life looks like on the other side of a massive launch. Starring in a mainline Grand Theft Auto title instantly thrusts performers into a global spotlight, forever tying their names and likenesses to gaming history. The veteran cast highlighted the sheer passion of the fanbase, noting that managing expectations and staying grounded will be crucial once the world finally learns who brought Jason and Lucia to life.
A Monumental Franchise Shift
More than a decade after Grand Theft Auto 5 debuted, the next entry represents one of the largest entertainment moments ever planned. With fans eagerly counting down the days until the franchise returns to the neon-soaked streets of Vice City, the creative torch is officially being handed off.
The incoming performers face enormous boots to fill, but having the support and shared wisdom of San Andreas and Los Santos veterans provides a strong foundation. When Jason and Lucia finally make their official debut, their actors will join an exclusive fraternity of talent that helped define the open-world genre.
