As Grand Theft Auto 6 approaches its global launch on November 19, 2026, prospective players face several structural changes to how the game is packaged, priced, and distributed across PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X|S.
Pricing Tiers and Edition Differences
Rockstar has set the baseline price for GTA 6 at $79.99 for the Standard Edition, which delivers the complete single-player campaign across digital storefronts and retail shelves. Notably, boxed retail copies will not include a physical disc; instead, physical packages contain a digital redemption voucher for console storefronts.
The digital-exclusive Ultimate Edition is priced at $99.99 and bundles the base game with exclusive cosmetics, custom vehicles, and property vouchers intended for the upcoming online mode. For dedicated collectors, Rockstar also offers The Goodtime State – Vice City Collection for $399.99. This standalone bundle contains physical merchandise—including Oakley sunglasses, a snapback hat, and a Macca the Gator figurine—but does not include a copy of the game or digital game code.
Pre-Order Perks and Pre-Load Timing
Players who pre-order any edition prior to release unlock the Vintage Vice City pack. The bonus delivers retro-themed Vice City cosmetics, an exclusive vehicle named the '55 Vapid Stanier, and one complimentary month of GTA+.
Digital pre-loads are scheduled to open on November 12, 2026, granting a one-week buffer to download game files ahead of midnight local unlocks on launch day. While Rockstar has not officially confirmed final storage requirements, circulating leaks indicate installation sizes may exceed 200GB on PlayStation 5.
Launch Boundaries: Online and PC
GTA 6 will debut exclusively as a single-player console experience. The multiplayer component will not be accessible on release day, with Rockstar expected to launch its online ecosystem sometime in 2027. Similarly, PC players will have to wait past the console debut, as reports indicate a potential PC launch window in early 2027.
The title has officially received an M for Mature (17+) rating from the ESRB, citing intense violence, blood and gore, strong sexual content, nudity, mature humor, and drug and alcohol use.
